About this event

There are two reasons for coming: you need support and are looking for solutions for a personal or professional life challenge; or you are a therapist, counsellor, coach, leader, manager or have an HR role and you want to learn systemic ways of working with clients. The day will explore and identify systemic insights and solutions to specific problems which people bring, ones that will align with the deeper values that support change. Everyone will learn stronger ways of supporting themselves and those they are responsible for.

The day will start with group forming to create a safe, confidential, respectful and non-judgmental space with the qualities needed for good work and support for the group.

Participants can then raise an issue for attention, which will be chosen as the day progresses. After an initial discussion with James to identify the core of the challenge and your real needs, the challenge will be explored to identify what lies at its root, what needs attending to, and what insights and changes can bring you strength.

There is normally space to address 5 or 6 issues each workshop. All attendees will receive insights to help with their challenges even if they choose not to put forward their issue or there is not space for it. Everyone will learn some essential foundations of systemic working.

Now in their fourth year, there is not restriction on the issues that can be brought. Past workshops have addressed issues such as migration, imposter syndrome, anxiety and stress, impacts of war, grief, couples relationships, parenting relationships, problems from family upbringing, finding purpose and joy, gaining clarity to make important decisions. Personal, family and work contexts are all equally welcome.

The workshop will be facilitated by James Pereira, who is an ICF PCC certified coach and NLP Master Practitioner, teaching faculty member of the Centre for Systemic Constellations and experienced in systemic coaching in personal, business and leadership contexts. He is also an experienced business leader who has run his own top-flight legal practice at the Bar for nearly 30 years.

There is a single charge for participants whether they wish to bring an issue of their own or attend to learn. Issues will be chosen as the day progresses. You can also contact James in advance if you know already that you want to bring forward an issue, or if you have any questions about the day.

The event will take place at Francis Taylor Building, Inner Temple, EC4Y 7BY, between 9.30am-5.30pm on Saturday 9 May, 2026 (arrival from 9 am). Further details will be provided in the week of the event.
